Golden-voiced Britain’s Got Talent singer [lastfm]Susan Boyle[/lastfm] was reduced to tears when The [lastfm]Velvet Underground[/lastfm] front man [lastfm]Lou Reed[/lastfm] refused to give her permission to sing his classic song “Perfect Day” on America’s Got Talent last month.

Now it’s a month later, and NME is reporting the most-awkward feud in music is over– Lou Reed has changed his mind and given Boyle permission to sing his song after all…

Boyle’s version of “Perfect Day” will appear on her forthcoming album, due in November.  It will be one of several cover songs, also including [lastfm]Leonard Cohen[/lastfm]’s “Hallelujah.”

Head over to NME for the whole story.

    Has he changed his mind?
The problem wasn’t whether or not she could record the damn song, she had already done that.
The problem was whether or not she’d be allowed to sing it live in the US.
A little too late for that Reed.
    Nice going.
After all, Boyle is such an awful person she really had that coming, right?
Or was it Cowell you were trying to spite?
