[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Esperanza Spalding[/lastfm] may have pulled off the upset of the night at this year’s GRAMMY awards. The 26 year old Portland, Oregon native beat out[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Justin Bieber[/lastfm] and others for the title as Best New Artist and was proud of it during her acceptance speech. Spalding promised her fans more great music and was very grateful for the acknowledgement.

Spalding plays several string instruments and is a talented vocalist, she recently talked about being surprised by her nomination.
