As we draw closer to the release date of Alanis Morissette‘s brand new album, Havoc and Bright Lights, the singer is adding to the excitement by announcing her first U.S. tour in support of it. Launching just a few days before the August 28th release day of the album, the outing will see Alanis on the road for 25 dates from the end of summer into the fall, wrapping up the first week of November.

Heading out on the road for months at a time and forced to live out of a suitcase, an artist’s personal grooming habits are bound to change. But in Alanis’ case, she jokes that it’s for the better. “I’m less of a dirty girl when I tour.”  CBS Local asked her to explain.

For Alanis, there are some must-have items that help her daily beauty regimen when she’s out on the road. Ones that make the tour bus or hotel room a bit more like home. “I have essentail oils that I blend myself, so I do special oils for tour.”

She also has a few other items on her list, including a blender.

All this and more will come out with the singer on what’s being dubbed the Guardian Angel Tour 2012. General tickets will go on sale Friday, August 17 and Saturday the 18.
