Meghan Markle has been spotted on her first public appearance since making her big announcement alongside husband Prince Harry.

Markle stopped by the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre in Vancouver, Canada on Tuesday to continue her philanthropic efforts. The organization, which helps to provide support and basic necessities to women and children in the area, shared a photo from their visit with the Duchess.

“Look who we had tea with today! The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, visited us today to discuss issues affecting women in the community,” they wrote. Markle can be seen posing alongside women from the organization.

Hours before the visit, Markle was spotted boarding a plane for Vancouver in photos obtained by the Daily Mail.

Just last week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to share that they would be stepping back as senior members of the royal family in an effort to become more financially independent.

Additionally, the Duchess will soon be faced by her estranged father in an upcoming court case. Page Six reports that Thomas Markle will be testifying against his daughter in her efforts to sue the UK newspaper the Mail on Sunday for printing a letter she wrote to her father.

The 75-year-old Markle plans to be the key witness testifying on behalf of the newspaper, new documents filed in London’s High Court reveal. The documents also state that he intends to help prove that Meghan was behind a smear campaign against him.
