Mortgage Talk: Saving For Your First Home

September 4, 2019

For alot of us, saving is a dirty word. But when you want to buy a home, you need to consider the costs involved. You need not only the deposit, but a home inspection and closing costs, which can add up quickly.

It's important to think first and start saving-- how much can you put aside every month? Make sure your savings account is difficult to access, so you'll be less likely to dip into it.

And you need to build a rainy day fund so you can afford to fix something if it breaks. Your financial institution has people who can help you figure out how much money you'll need to achieve your home buying goal, so talk to them!
